San Francisco International Film Festival

Shady Lady Lighting has contributed design and on-site installation to the San Francisco International Film Festival since 2003 the 50th anniversary of the festival. Shady lady has teamed up with Mike Garrett of Phoebus lighting. Shady lady and Phoebus lighting are honored to be the Lighting Designers for the last five years.

1994-Current: Lighting Designer, Shady Lady Lighting
Shady lady Lighting has created a name for herself by mind blowing lighting effects, strong imagery with using conceptual lighting. Achievements include: Connie Francis LIVE @ the Castro Theatre Feb.2007,San Francisco's New De Young 2005 Month long opening Celebrations, New Year's eve @ The Clift Hotel 2001-2005, Castro Theatre San Francisco permanent installation, Bill Shannon the CrutchMaster of NYC, Brava Theater’s special events, San Francisco’s International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival Special Events, National Queer Arts Festival. (Women in Music series at Brava Theater, Sini Anderson’s Displacement, and Margo Gomez, Straight Wet Female.) Smash TV.(Hired to create environments enhancing vibe on a international broadcast of Gold Chains)

Installation Artist

Academy of friends Co-designed with Isaac frank conceptual viewing rooms for National Aids Oscar Gala event at Fort Mason. I have been asked three years in a row to participate. Rooms include: Red, Lavender, and Yellow

2000-2001: Project Director, Holzmueller Productions
Responsible for managing the logistics of an event. Included lighting design, set management, and budget management. Shows include: Organic 
computer services, Compaq computer supplier, Chiltern estate (private event), San Francisco Asian Art Museum, S.F. MOMA. Many other small and large private and corporate events.

2001: Camera/Lighting Operator, Warner Bros.
Camera and lighting for children’s television show. Set up lighting and camera.” Phantom Investigator’s” aired last year on WB 20.

1998-2000: Production Designer, Morcheeba
Designed conceptual lighting and stage design to British pop band Morcheeba. Traveled and performed with the band through United States, Europe, and the UK.


2001 Production Designer, Hanover Grand, London. Record release party.

I was asked to continue a short tour with Morcheeba to present the new album. The new sound indicated a new look. I accomplished this with innovative design and by adding the talents of Light Surgeons on London.

1999 Lighting Designer, Royal Albert Hall of London
I was asked by Morcheeba to design the most prestigious show of their career. Jenny b and Kim Martin redesigned the current tour plot for the Albert Hall and worked with Morcheeba's Tour Manager for a cohesive set design.

Special Events

Special Events can be anything from a small wedding in the mountains of California to the large opening of a festival.

The Shady Lady staff leave the client and event planner very pleased. My crew and I always remember that this event is changing lives in some way.

The red room was a collaborative piece including Isaac frank, Ganga, Signe M. Olson, and Jenny b. The red room was inspired by the talented Derek Jarmen. The Lavender Room made the next days papers with it's unique way of presenting the sexy color lav.

Shady Lady was honored to be part of the opening celebrations at the New De Young in Golden Gate Park

Shady lady lighting set the standards in the new San Francisco Golden Gate Park De Young Museum, by being the first design team to visually enhance it's architectural magnificence through innovative equipment style and location.
